We are delighted to announce that VCH volunteer James Underwood has just completed a full draft history for the ancient parish of Cliburn. You can read the article here.

For our 2019 volunteers' field trip we made our first and long overdue visit to the west coast, to the ancient parish of Waberthwaite. Our guide for the day was Alan Clegg, who recently joined as a volunteer researcher and is making great progress on the history of Waberthwaite.

The launch of Kirkoswald and Renwick on 21st May was a great success. We had over 80 guests and sold 65 copies of the book! There was excellent tea and cake, and the whole event was very well organised by local residents. Particular thanks to Beryl Watts and Neville Jackson.

A new book on the history of Penrith in the thirteenth century has been published by CWAAS.

Members of CCHT are invited to attend the AGM, which will be held on Friday 28th June at Penrith Methodist Church, 2pm-3.30pm

The work of the VCH was highlighted at that the AGM of CWAAS, one of the project's biggest supporters, on 13th April. This was an opportunity to celebrate the publication of Kirkoswald and Renwick and outline research plans for the future.
