Wabberthwaite is the first parish on the west coast to be researched by a VCH volunteer. Written by Alan Clegg, this article shows a lot has happened in this small parish, which is particularly noteworthy for its Anglian and Viking-Age stone sculputure. Alan is now working on the neighbouring parish of Corney.

On Friday 22nd September James Bowen led a field trip to Troutbeck, with twelve volunteers participating. The group explored various themes of economic, social and religious history as well as points of architectural interest, all of which are relevant to VCH research.
