The VCH Cumbria project is now part of the new Regional Heritage Centre within Lancaster University’s History Department. The new Centre had been established in order to develop the University's activities in engaging with the regional community in the field of cultural heritage.

Lancaster University’s History Department has just announced details of its first-ever, web-based, short course which should attract interest from around the globe.

On Thursday 30th May Professor Keith Wrightson of Yale University will be giving a public lecture at Lancaster University. His paper is entitled ‘Also present and hearing: the common people in the age of Elizabeth I’ – all are welcome.
