The Cumbria County History Trust
The Cumbria County History Trust (CCHT) has been established as a registered charity (Charity Registration Number 1137379) to raise funds and volunteer resources for the work, and to provide the community focus for the Victoria County History of Cumbria project.
The charitable aims of the Trust are:
1. to further the education of the public in the history and heritage of the County of Cumbria and its communities and to promote and foster public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the history of the area in general.
2. to undertake research into the history and heritage of the County of Cumbria and its communities and to disseminate the useful results of such research for the public benefit.
CCHT has a current membership of 120 individuals and 12 societies. The project is managed by the Board of Trustees, chaired by Bryan Gray. A Project Plan for 2011-12 (opens as pdf.) was agreed in April 2011.

Gold Membership
The list of Founding Sponsors and Founder Members closed on 15 March 2011, when a new category was introduced, Gold Membership, to recognise the generosity of individuals or institutions who have donated significantly more than the standard membership over the initial five years after launch
